This imposing Victorian pub has been thoroughly refurbished in recent years and boasts three separate drinking areas, a walled garden and a 90-seat theatre upstairs with a reputation for quality productions with excellent casts. It's called the Grace Theatre At The Latchmere (see Off West End), after Alan Grace, father of the founder, who was killed in action three months before the birth of his son. An exciting new menu offers substantial meals for around £5: chicken breast with vegetable kebab, vegetable chilli and crab cakes. And, when the weather's warm enough, you can enjoy its fine fare in the beer garden. Greene King IPA and Young's ales.
