Buying a flat in Essex: new homes with hyperoptic broadband and 45-minute journeys to Liverpool Street station

A town centre development of 98 apartments has launched in Witham, Essex, with one-bedroom flats from £175,000.

Midway between Colchester and Chelmsford, Witham is in what estate agents like to call "rural Essex".

It's a 45-minute commute from Liverpool Street station, and just about cheap enough to attract budget-driven first-time buyers.

Lime Tree Place is a town centre scheme of 98 apartments with some added-value features including hallway-free interiors, hyperoptic broadband — the fastest available — a car parking space and bicycle storage.

Prices start at £175,000 for a one-bedroom flat. Call 020 88688 6552.
