Help to Buy flats for sale in Acton: running track and allotments to be part of leafy new 990-home neighbourhood at The Verdean

The new-build scheme also includes an outdoor gym, basketball court and climbing wall.

The Verdean is a welcome leafy new neighbourhood in densely built Acton, one of the cheaper Zone 3 districts on the traditionally favoured west side of London.

Built on six acres, the 990-home project includes two acres of open space with an outdoor gym, running track, basketball court, climbing wall and kitchen garden with allotments, encouraging families to keep fit and grow their own fruit and vegetables.

Carved up by train tracks and busy roads, Acton gives its name to seven rail stations - one reason why it is packed with young renters and buyers.

Property prices are low enough to make the area Help to Buy territory, too.

Apartments at The Verdean start at £369,000, with completion due in 2023.

The site is close to the planned Crossrail/HS2 transport interchange at nearby Old Oak Common, which will shrink journey times to the West End, City, Docklands and beyond.
