Bafta-winning sound mixer David Crozier, who worked on Harry Potter and Mission: Impossible movies, has built an amazing summerhouse home cinema at his Fifties US-style bungalow in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, complete with vintage seats and red velvet curtains.

“We decided to import a log cabin from Norway, the size of a double garage, as a starting point to this somewhat crazy dream,” he says.

“It arrived in a flat pack and took three weeks to build.”

Working with home movie experts Pulse Cinemas, he created his dream space: “I wanted a viewing theatre away from the main house. At times the small cypress tree outside gently quivers with the enormity of bass. My village friends still seem to be speaking to me so I guess the sound isn’t travelling much further.”

He watches a film every evening after dinner.
