The UK’s biggest and best chilli festival at West Dean Gardens, Chichester, will be held on Friday August 5 to Sunday August 7.

You can browse over 140 stalls offering chilli-related gifts, seeds and plants, taste the heat with chilli foods and cool down with local Sussex icecream, as well as samba till late to Los Amigos, Mariachi Mezcal and other Latin and Salsa sounds.

On Friday Radio Four’s Gardener’s Question Time will be recorded live and kids will be kept happy with a vintage funfair, face painting and a fiesta trail as well as volleyball court.

Make a weekend of it by camping or glamping in classic bell tents; for camping details, full programme and prices from £11.20 for one adult, see chillifiesta.org.uk.
