Acquisition verdict for Generali

ITALIAN insurer Generali, which reports its third-quarter earnings on Tuesday, will on Thursday learn the EU's verdict on its proposed acquisition of Zurich Financial Services' French life business and part of its non-life operations. Last month the EU cleared Generali's purchase of a 99.5% stake in French insurance company Continent Holding.
