Another 600 staff axed by Boots

BOOTS is cutting 600 jobs at its Nottingham HQ, on top of 900 announced last week.

The savage cutbacks by chief executive Richard Baker will see head office run by half the current payroll in 18 months.

The job cuts form part of his 'Getting in Shape' plan, targeting cost savings of £100m by 2006.
