Ban for Upton Park hooligans

12 April 2012

Five football fans were today banned from attending any match for three years after pleading guilty to violence at West Ham's Carling Cup tie with Millwall.

Two others got lesser bans for offences linked with violence at the Upton Park match last month when hundreds of rival fans fought each other and riot police. Officers expect to charge more people.

Deakin Glyn, 34, of Blackheath, who has previous convictions for hooliganism, John Lyons, 24, of Dagenham, Lee Howard, 22, and Wayne Cooper, 36, of Canvey Island, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named were handed the bans at Stratford magistrates' court.
