Bees get radio tags in bid to save population

Bees are being fitted with tiny radio ID tags to monitor their movements in an effort to discover why their numbers have plummeted.

The study by British scientists will examine concerns that pesticides could be damaging bees' brains, harming their ability to gather food, navigate and perform the "waggle dance" that tells other bees where nectar can be found.

Scientists will also look at serious declines in other insects that are vital for the pollination crops, including butterflies and moths.
