Bovis rebuilding its boardroom

13 April 2012

HOUSEBUILDER Bovis Homes is scrapping the post of group operations director in a shake-up that sees Stephen Brazier leave the business after just two-and-a-half years.

Brazier is expected to bag a pay-off equal to his £225,000 salary. Chief executive Malcolm Harris admitted the group's experiment with the operations role, 'to copy other companies', had failed and it needed a new structure to take make progress.

Three new boardroom positions are being created, covering group production and quality control, commercial and strategic land, and group corporate systems.

The first two were filled respectively today by Michael Black, a current director in Bovis's South-East division, and Alastair Thomas, the group's property development director.
