12 April 2012

A carer at high-security Broadmoor Hospital has been accused of engaging in sexual activity with a mentally-ill patient.

Rhoda Sibanda, 30, has been charged with two counts of penetrative sexual activity with a mentally disordered person at the psychiatric hospital in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

The care worker, of Bracknell, Berkshire, was also charged with two counts of non-penetrative sexual activity.

The sexual acts are alleged to have taken place at the hospital between June 1 and August 25 this year.

She was released on bail and is due to make her first court appearance at Maidenhead Magistrates' Court on December 23.

A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting an offence under the Sexual Offences Act but was released without charge, Thames Valley Police said.
