Cadbury chief 's £11m pot

13 April 2012

CADBURY Schweppes chairman John Sunderland may have handed over the reins at the food group last year but he still stands to pick up a sweet pension. He has a pot of £11.7m after 36 years' service, which would pay him £646,000 a year if he retired tomorrow.

His replacement, former director of strategy Todd Stitzer saw his package soar 28% to £1.36m, including £164,000 in 'other benefits' such as housing fees.

Sunderland, 58, is also on the board of gaming and leisure group Rank, where chief executive Mike Smith scooped just over £1m last year.

At Cairn Energy, which struck gold with a big oil find in India, chief executive Bill Gammell's total pay package jumped 34% to £637,337 but share options could net him £8.6m. He also owns shares worth £7.8m.
