Diana death was murky, says chat-show Piers Morgan

Murky: Piers Morgan has spoken out over the death of the peoples' princess chat-show Piers
12 April 2012

Chat show host Piers Morgan believes that Princess Diana's death was "murky" and that the British secret service kills people.

The former newspaper editor's views will be revealed next week at the first public screening of a documentary about the princess, who would have had her 50th birthday today.

He told the film he believes the inquest into the fatal 1997 Paris crash heard "dramatic revelations" that seemingly were never followed up.

The movie, Unlawful Killing, was made by actor Keith Allen with money - but no editorial control - from Mohamed Fayed. The former Harrods owner argued that Diana and her lover, Mr Fayed's son Dodi, were killed by MI6 on the orders of the Duke of Edinburgh.

The film is so legally contentious it may never be shown here but will be premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh on Wednesday.

Speaking of the inquest, which returned unlawful killing verdicts, Morgan, 46, said: "You had, I think, a fairly unsatisfactory result. I thought, 'This is murky, murkier than I thought'.

"When the head of British security services announces, 'We never killed anybody in the last 50 years', I laughed aloud."
