Don't miss out on free Games tickets, Mayor tells pupils

Mayoral reminder: Boris wants to make sure London's school children do not miss out on Olympics tickets
12 April 2012

Boris Johnson today called on schools across the capital to register online for the chance to get thousands of free Olympics tickets.

The Mayor joined Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt in Crystal Palace today at the London School Games where he reminded 1,000 youngsters to apply for 125,000 free tickets.

Mr Johnson said that nearly 80 per cent of schools and colleges have already signed up for the Get Set ticketshare programme, which he claims will allow one in eight of the capital's schoolchildren to get into the Games free.

Speaking at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, the Mayor said: "I want as many of the kids competing today to have a chance of getting their own front row seats so they can soak up the excitement."

Hundreds of London pupils were competing in the School Games.
