The director of a new dramatisation of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray is working from home — staging it in his Greenwich townhouse.

The home of Samuel Orange, brother of Take That star Jason, is being transformed for the play, by the Alchemic Order group.

Orange, 29, who also stars as Lord Henry Wotton, said the action plays out in rooms that correspond with those in the book so that the audience “inhabits” the world of Gray, played by River Hawkins, who wishes to sell his soul so his portrait will age rather than him. Orange said: “It’s quite a big house and I’m used to having parties anyway. There are two servants in the performance who look after the guests.”

Until September 28, Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm. Book at thealchemicorder.com
