Duke of Cambridge organic gastropub wins 'green Oscar'

12 April 2012

The first gastropub in Britain to go organic has won a "green Oscar".

The Duke of Cambridge in St Peter's Street, Islington, was honoured at the Sustainable City Awards, run by the City of London.

The pub changes its menu to reflect the freshest local food, 80 per cent of which comes from the Home Counties.

Another winner was cab firm Green Tomato Cars, which uses the hybrid Toyota Prius and funds emmissions-offsetting schemes.
