ES auction: Masterclass with Tracey Emin

12 April 2012

With only three days to go in the Standard's Christmas charity auction, there are fantastic opportunities still available for lovers of modern British art to feed their passion and help an excellent cause.

We have an exclusive invitation to attend a two-hour art masterclass with Tracey Emin at the Serpentine Gallery, helped by her "studio assistant" — and Gallery director — Julia Peyton-Jones. For just £2,500 it is a rare chance for five readers to learn the secrets of one of the leaders of the Young British Artists movement.

With their tailored matching suits and self-referential works, Gilbert and George helped pave the way for the YBAs. Now, with bids already at £2,600 and above, readers can purchase two signed
volumes of their picture books, a framed limited-edition poster of their artwork Playgroup, and a unique mystery item.

The highest bid is £8,700 for Gordon Ramsay to cook at the winner's house. Dinner with the Standard's Editor Geordie Greig is a new entry in the top five lots after a bidding war pushed the price up from £640 to £5,100 in a day.

Two tickets to the play Enron, accompanied by our City editor Chris Blackhurst and a leading businessman, are a snip at £77. A pair of trainers designed by Lily Allen with two tickets to her show are at £315.

More than £118,000 has been raised so far, thanks to generosity of our readers. The eBay auction closes at noon on Monday. All proceeds support the Kids Company charity.
