Executed by the mob: Naples turns blind eye as killer strikes

The killer clinically felled his target with a shot to the arm, then finished him off with a bullet in the head
12 April 2012

A hitman strikes in daylight in a gangland execution that nobody saw. The killing in Naples bore the hallmarks of the city's Camorra crime gangs.

The killer clinically felled his target with a shot to the arm, then finished him off with a bullet in the head.

The victim was Mariano Bacio Terracino, 53, who had Mob connections.

But despite a woman walking by checking her lottery ticket, and other people nearby, no witness has come forward to the May killing.

Police have released this CCTV footage in the hope that for once they can break the silence.
