Eye deal stunt for Blaine

13 April 2012

US magician David Blaine, famous for his death defying tests of endurance, stunned Londoners this morning when he appeared on top of the city's most popular tourist attraction.

The 30-year-old New Yorker, who is in London preparing for his next stunt which sees him suspended over the River Thames for 44 days, was seen stretching and crouching on top of the 135m high London Eye.

A spokeswoman for the London Eye said they were aware of the stunt which is being filmed for a TV show but when asked how Blaine managed to get onto the pods said she was stumped and added 'it must have been magic'.

Next week Blaine will step into his 7ft high by 7ft long and 3ft wide Plexiglass container before being hoisted above the Thames near Tower Bridge.

He will attempt to survive the 44 day duration by drinking only water.

'It will be like heaven. It will be pure. It will be like being in the womb,' said Blaine describing the stunt.
