Fallen star Singh's sour note

Simon Watkins|Mail13 April 2012

DISCREDITED entrepreneur Reuben Singh owed creditors more than £4m when his latest business collapsed, according to papers filed last month with Companies House.

AlldayPA, which provided small businesses with a pay-as-you-go secretarial service, was pushed into administration in March by Singh's parents, who were among the creditors.

Singh had hailed it as a great success and his publicity team insisted the company was worth tens of millions of pounds.

A statement by administrators Wilson Pitts showed that the group lost about £1.7m in its three years of trading.

Its creditors included Bank of Scotland, the Inland Revenue, electricity supplier Powergen and Salford City Council. Total debts were £4.12m.

In its filing, Wilson Pitts said it had sold some of the company's furniture, but there would be no cash left for creditors after its own fees had been paid.

At the height of his fame, Singh was lionised by the Government. He sat on committees to help small businesses, met Prime Minister Tony Blair and attended a party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate business pioneers.
