A former footballer who won 10 medals with Liverpool has launched a new career as a professional photographer with his first exhibition in London.

Craig Johnston, 49, was an integral part of the Liverpool team that dominated during the Eighties.

The former midfielder, who was born in South Africa but grew up in Australia, came to England in 1975 when he was 15 and joined Middlesbrough. He took up photography so he could send pictures to his parents back home, as he was "never a good writer".

The exhibition, at the Business Design Centre in Islington until today, is titled Reflections and features a study of mannequins in shop windows.

After retiring from the game Johnston created the prototype for the Adidas Predator football boot.
