Four million visit new Westfield

Four million shoppers have visited Europe's biggest shopping centre, Westfield Stratford City, since it opened a month ago.

Owners of the 300 stores and restaurants are delighted at the way the new centre is operating.

Noel Saunders, managing director of John Lewis at the £1.45 billion centre, said they had had a "tremendous" month. "The London 2012 Shop and amazing view of the Olympic Park have proved the biggest hit," he said.

A spokesman for Mexican restaurant Wahaca, said: "We are really pleased that the number of customers has remained high."
