Fund backs pop-up blockers

LONDON Fund Managers, a Government-backed venture capital investor set up to support small companies, has made its fourth investment in a fortnight by backing a software firm that weeds out annoying internet adverts.

Touch Clarity's software, sold to websites, learns what kind of ads are likely to interest users and allows only those to pop up on their screens.

Other LFM deals in the past fortnight include backing for in-shop TV channels group Avanti Communications and hi-tech printing outfit Bookchase. This latest investment means it has pumped £1m into London companies.
