ISS 2: International Superstar Soccer 2

Xbox/PlayStation 2/GameCube

I know sweet FA about football. To be honest I'd prefer to chew on cotton wool, pull my toenails out with pliers or even lick a nylon carpet than watch the ridiculous sport. But, when it comes to playing it on my trusty X-box it's a different matter all together. ISS2 allows players to step into the boots of their favourite players to tackle, dribble and score their way to glory. With more than 50 international teams and a wealth of game modes, ISS2 is huge. The game features real player names who look better than they do in the flesh and with me behind the controls I do believe they play a little better. ISS2 was made by the same team that created the greatest football game in gaming history - Pro Evolution Soccer - but this time round it's a much simpler arcade version. Hurry, get it while stocks last. (HM)

Super Trucks

PlayStation 2

Don't worry, this isn't another 18-Wheeler. Nothing could be that dull. Although why anyone would want a game where you race in very large but not very fast vehicles is a mystery to me. But not to a large part of Europe, where truck racing is second only to F1 in terms of attendance and popularity. This racing game is a different ball game from the usual ? trucks simply don't behave like cars. But can I be bothered learning? That's the rub. While the damage quota is nice and high (with bonnets and wings flying off without altering the performance of your vehicle), this still seems more of a novelty than a proper game. (NP)

Fila Decathlon

Game Boy Advance

This game may have ten events, such as 100m dash, high jump and javelin. It may have plenty of gaming modes ranging from single-event practice to full regional, national qualifications. But, like Knockout Kings, you're required to do no more than tap buttons as FAST as possible. This is only enjoyable if you have a friend to challenge and then the point of the game is lost and it becomes a rather serious 'Who has the faster fingers' competition. Before you know it, you're arm wrestling, out-staring each other, eating as many Jacob's Cream Crackers in a minute and Fila Decathlon has fallen down the back of the sofa. Whoops! (HM)
