Genus bags Russia job creation deal

CATTLE breeding firm Genus has been hired to work on job creation in the heartlands of Russia's nuclear programme. The company said its consulting arm, recruited by the UK Department of Trade and Industry, will lead a consortium to encourage non-weapons related employment and social development in the cities that house the former Soviet Union's bomb factories. The work is worth £3m over three years.

Chief executive Richard Wood said the contract was 'strategically important' for Genus: 'It broadens the geographical reach of the consulting division and leaves the company well placed to explore further work with the DTI in this and parallel fields.'
