Hillary Clinton tells Pakistan: Wipe out your militant havens

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton flew to Pakistan today to try to repair damaged relations after the killing there of al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.

She told president Asif Ali Zardari the US maintains "very strong support for the relationship and our commitment to working with and supporting Pakistan".

But Pakistan must also show renewed commitment to wiping out safe havens for militants who attack US forces across the border in Afghanistan. If it did not, she said, the billions of dollars in military aid given to Pakistan annually will begin to dry up.
