Inquest resumes into deaths of family of four

Inquests will resume today into the deaths of a family of four - including two young girls - found dead at their home.

Delivery driver Andrew Case, 33, is believed to have stabbed his wife of 10 years Vicki, 31, to death.

He also killed their two daughters Nereya, 18 months, and Phoebe, two, who were described as "little angels" on July 26 last year.

Case then hanged himself on the upstairs landing of their rented semi-detached home in Fordingbridge, Hampshire.

Their bodies were found by Mrs case's mother Linda Haskell, 57, who went around to the house when she could not contact the family as she usually babysat the children on that day.

Mrs Haskell ran from the scene shouting: "They're all dead - my babies are dead."

Post-mortem examinations showed Mrs Case, who ran a nursery for 20 under-fives at St Aldhelm's Church in nearby Sandleheath, died from multiple stabs wounds to her chest and neck and Case from hanging.

The bodies of the two girls showed no signs of trauma, police said at the time.

Just two days prior to the deaths, the family had returned from a seaside holiday in Weymouth, Dorset, and neighbours said they appeared happy.

But it was reported at the time that the family was suffering financial difficulties.
