Investment in manufacturing dives

INVESTMENT in the manufacturing sector has collapsed to its lowest for almost 20 years. The amount of money manufacturers pumped into their businesses fell by 7.9% to £3.3bn in the fourth quarter from the previous quarter and was down 17.7% on a year earlier - the worst since 1984. For the whole economy, investment fell 1.1%.
