Jacqui Smith terror alert

A TERRORIST attack on Britain is "highly likely", the Home Secretary told the Commons today.

Jacqui Smith issued the warning as she faced MPs over a stream of controversies in her department, including the arrest of a suspected terror gang.

But she came under fire from Tory shadow Chris Grayling for failing to clamp down on bogus student visas until after they were allegedly used as a cover for terrorists.

Ms Smith's appearance was her first since a string of scandals, including the resignation of Met assistant commissioner Bob Quick, the collapse of the "leaks" investigation into Tory MP Damian Green, rows over her expenses claims and the disclosure that her husband watched blue movies at the taxpayers' expense.
