Jogger dies outside school

13 April 2012

A 24-year-old woman has died after collapsing while jogging past a school.

Laura Marshall rapped on the window of the school hall to get help after suffering an asthma attack during her run. Two boys at Hall Mead School in Upminster raced to alert staff. Deputy headteacher Alan McFadden said staff members gave her the kiss of life until an ambulance arrived.

"We think the girl must have got into difficulty, seen lights in the school and come to the hall for help. We had a trained first aider, and they did their best but she had collapsed," he said.

Ms Marshall was taken to a Romford hospital but died shortly after her collapse at about 9pm last Thursday.
