Labour's printer sold for £42m

COMMUNISIS, the printing group formed out of the restructuring of the old Waddington group, is paying £42m for printing services group Centurion in a cash-and-shares deal.

Centurion was formed 30 years ago by David Evans, who was made a Labour peer in 1998. He, his family and senior management at Centurion are the major shareholders in the company. Its clients include the Labour Party, the trades union movement, Barclaycard, BSkyB, Sainsbury's and CenterParcs.
