Man, 20, in court over London Pc shooting

A man will appear in court today in connection with the shooting of an unarmed police officer in London.

The unnamed Pc received an arm injury when he was hit by a bullet when a man opened fire on officers in Kingsdown Avenue, South Croydon.

Police in Northern Ireland have charged a 20-year-old man with assisting offenders and withholding information.

He will appear before Belfast magistrates this morning.

A 26-year-old man was also arrested in Belfast in relation to the shooting, which took place last Friday.

He is being taken to London for questioning about the attempted murder of the officer.
Two men have already been charged in connection with the incident.

Adewale Ogunsanya, 22, of Leigham Court Road, London, and Demar Provan, 21, of no fixed address, appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court on July 18 charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of ammunition.

The two men are due before Croydon Crown Court on September 23.
