Minicab driver wins fines battle

A minicab driver fined for stopping on double yellow lines for less than two minutes has won a two-year legal battle against his £240 bill.

Ahmed Makda was twice given £120 fines by Westminster council after cameras spotted him in Soho waiting for booked fares that didn't show up.

His appeals were rejected but a High Court judge has ruled that the fines were an "error of law".
