New collection for all-British M&S

Marks & Spencer launches its spring 2002 womenswear collection on Monday – the biggest promotion in the company‘s history. It is first full collection from new creative director Yasmin Yusuf, who was previously managing director at loss-making fashion chain Warehouse, which she helped to turn around.

The launch coincides with reports that M&S is to close to selling its last remaining overseas business. According to the Sunday Times, it is in talks with New York rival Gristede for its 27 stores that trade under the Kings brand. The £115m deal should be finalised this week.
