Passengers face another day of Circle line misery

12 April 2012

Passengers on the Circle line faced more misery this morning when part of the Tube's worst line was shut by a signal failure.

This followed a major shutdown yesterday when hundreds of thousands of commuters returning from Easter holidays found the line suspended for much of the day by a computer and signal failure at Aldgate.

Today's problems were also in the Aldgate area but affected a different set of points that prevented trains leaving Tower Hill station.

This meant that anti-clockwise services were suspended between Mansion House and Liverpool Street from 630am. Clockwise services from Hammersmith to Edgware Road were running normally.

The Circle line has been blighted by worsening delays since its route was extended to Hammersmith last year.
