Pitman to steer new ITV company

ITV is expected to appoint Sir Brian Pitman today as interim chairman of the new company to be formed by the £4.5bn merger between Granada and Carlton.

As senior non-executive director, the former Lloyds TSB chief will replace ousted Michael Green while a permanent chairman is sought.
