Families who collectively paid more than £6 million for flats at a Bulgarian ski resort claim they have been illegally locked out of their properties.

About 70 British investors plan to hold a rally outside the All Seasons holiday complex in Bankso next month, after being denied access for two years.

They invested in the one and two-bedroom apartments through London property firm Rockarch Estates. It claims it was cheated by a Bulgarian woman, who is said to have transferred ownership of much of the complex to a Bulgarian firm called Zekom.

With ownership in doubt, no title documents could be released and the Britons were prevented from entering the flats. The case has been referred to the Bulgarian courts, with a ruling expected next week. Paul and Sharon Hassall, from Horsham, paid nearly £200,000 for two flats. Mr Hassall said: "We've suffered two years of financial stress."

Zekom denies any wrongdoing.
