£240,000 dress? Put it on my platinum card

Sparkling bride: the gown is made from 40 metres of silk and platinum thread
13 April 2012

A Platinum wedding dress that costs 10 times more than most entire weddings goes on show in London today.

The £240,000 dress is made of 40 metres of fabric spun from silk and platinum thread. It was designed by Italian Mauro Adami, who once made Keith Richards a platinum jacket.

It is the centrepiece of Hatton Garden Jewellery Week and is in the window of the Wedding Ring Shop. The festival also includes a treasure hunt to win a £15,000 platinum ring and pendant.
