Evening Standard12 April 2012

AN EXECUTIVE of a company which runs a network of care homes told police after a resident died in one of them, "s**t happens in our business", Wood Green crown court heard today.

Glen von Malachowski, who was chief executive of company Robinia, made the remark after Jesse Moores, 26, of Friern Barnet choked to death on a sandwich at The Chine in Enfield. He was autistic and had a history of choking.

Deputy manager Patience Etchu-Abangma, 53, was convicted of breaching her health and safety duty after she left Mr Moores with two agency workers while she went to her secret second job. Robinia admits three counts of breaching health and safety.

The case continues.
