An active love life is an excellent study aid, scientists claim. Finding a loving partner could be more effective than burying your head in books, they believe.

They studied the brains of university students and discovered that those who regularly had sex registered far more brain activity than those still looking for Mr or Miss Right. The findings by Werner Habermehl, one of Germany's leading sexual behaviour experts, were published this week in the students' magazine Unicum Campus.

Professor Habermehl believes brain activity is an indicator of a person's intelligence.
