Space shuttle Endeavour touches down

12 April 2012

Space shuttle Endeavour and its crew of six are back on earth after a successful construction mission at the International Space Station.

Endeavour touched down at Kennedy space centre in Florida late last night. Only four more shuttle flights will take place as the programme reaches the end of its life, and launch director Mike Leinbach said there was sadness surrounding the landing after Endeavour's second last flight.

The shuttle spent two weeks at the ISS installing a new module and an observation deck. The station is now almost complete.
