Spaniel's rope trick helps to lay pipes in the East End

A cocker spaniel called Jade has been helping to replace the mains in Stratford by running through pipes with a rope round her neck.

Her owner, National Grid team leader Clive Tilbury, said: "I've brought her along to the worksite since she was a pup. I wouldn't have any sofa left if I left her at home."

He said residents have rewarded Jade with tins of dog food and a green high visibility jacket.
