Swiss Life closer to quitting UK

SWISS Life is to stop writing new group insurance policies in the UK after closing its doors to new individual business here in the summer.

It has clinched a deal with UnumProvident, which will reinsure its group income protection portfolio. Swiss Life plans to withdraw from Britain, where it employs 700.

Its management has assured customers here that their policies are secure.
