Tell us what happened, bride's family urge Shrien Dewani

Suspect: Shrien Dewani is accused of murdering his wife Anni on their honeymoon
12 April 2012

The family of Shrien Dewani's murdered bride has begged the British businessman to reveal "what really happened".

The care home owner is accused of ordering the killing of his new wife, Anni Dewani, on their honeymoon in South Africa, which he denies.

Relatives of 28-year-old Swede Mrs Dewani said they could not rest until they had found out how she died and whether her husband was involved.
Her brother Anish Hindocha told ITV News: "He has many questions to answer. I think he has to clear his name and tell us once and for all what really happened."

But a Dewani family spokesman said the young woman's relatives had turned down the opportunity to meet him since he became a suspect.

The South African authorities are seeking to extradite Mr Dewani, 31, for his alleged involvement in his wife's death. He is currently on bail at a secure mental health hospital in Somerset.
