Time to go bat-spotting with wetlands team

Evening Standard13 April 2012

Bat enthusiasts can take part in evening expeditions to track down some of the rarest breeds living in London.

The Wetlands Centre is offering talks by its experts and guided walks. Bat-spotting begins in the centre's courtyard, where the first bats appear after dusk, and takes in a trip around the reserve.

Visitors can hope to see longeared-greater horseshoe and Daubenton's bats. Special events are being organised for children aged eight to 14.

Stasa Veroukis of the centre said: "We love dispelling myths, especially for children, who will see they don't need to be scared."
