Tottenham legend Teddy Sheringham to play in England Masters clash against Germany on London Live
Former Tottenham star Teddy Sheringham will put on his football boots once again as the 50-year-old joins his compatriots, including Steve McManaman, for an England Masters clash against Germany this weekend.
The 80-minute game, which will take place at the Singapore National Stadium on Saturday, will be aired exclusively on London Live this Sunday from 2pm as England renew their rivalry with Germany, two days after the Three Lions play Scotland in a World Cup qualifying match at Wembley.
Sheringham, 50, will be joined by 44-year-old McManaman, Darren Anderton, David James and Paul Scholes among others to take on a Germany Masters side 50 years on from England's famous win over west Germany in the 1966 World Cup final.
"It’s nice to see so many of the England team-mates here as we don’t get the chance to see each other as often anymore," Sheringham said ahead of the match.
"There is a huge fan base in Singapore; people are very friendly and welcome us with open arms."
Former Liverpool forward Karl-Heinz Riedle added: "When it comes to a game against England, it’s always a motivation for all the German players to win because England is a big footballing nation.
"It’ll be one of the best games of the season for every German. We are still on fire!"
