US executive pay soars

EXECUTIVE pay in the US soared by 16% last year despite public anger at the huge sums paid to directors amid corporate scandals and white collar trials.

A survey by Equilar found that most of the increase came from bonuses which helped boost pay for top chief execs in the US to more than $2m.
