US killer is ordered to stay in Pakistan

A court in Pakistan ordered the government not to release an American consulate official arrested for shooting two people dead.

The Lahore high court said he should be put on the "exit control list" that would prevent him leaving the country.

The man said he acted in self-defence because the men were trying to rob him at gunpoint. The US says he has diplomatic status and is immune from prosecution.
