Website bid to help catch Matalan murderers

Amar Singh13 April 2012

FRIENDS of an assistant store manager stabbed to death in an attempted robbery have set up a website to help find his killers.

Jamie Simpson, 33, was stabbed in the neck at the Matalan store where he worked in Kingsland Shopping Centre, Hackney, on the evening of 22 March. Police believe three men lay in wait at the store before confronting him.

The Justice4Jamie site includes an anonymous board where people can leave information.

One of Mr Simpson's friends, Faeem Ahmed, said: "It's been seven months and even though police are doing what they can, we are looking at different ways to get people involved. If someone knew something about the murder they may not want to leave information with the police, but might leave a message on a website."

Friends and relatives of Mr Simpson, who lived in Herne Hill, will also be handing out flyers in Hackney on Saturday.

After the killing police released CCTV images of three suspects who were in the shopping centre. Despite several arrests police are keen to hear from more witnesses.
