Wendi Deng 'had rage in her eyes'

Slap: Rupert Murdoch's wife Wendi Deng
12 April 2012

The comedian who attacked Rupert Murdoch with a foam pie today said he had no regrets about "trying to take him down a peg or two".

Jonathan May-Bowles, 26, who calls himself Jonnie
Marbles, has been vilified after the assault on the media mogul, 80, who was appearing before a select committee hearing this week to answer questions about the phone-hacking scandal. Mr Murdoch's wife Wendi Deng slapped Marbles and threw the pie back in his face.

Marbles, due to appear at the City of Westminster court next Friday, today described the "rage" in Ms Deng's eyes and said: "I wouldn't want to have a rematch."

He also told Victoria Derbyshire on BBC Radio 5 Live how he breached Commons security despite having shaving foam and paper plates. "I worked hard to make the bag as innocuous as pos-sible they just gave me a pass."
